Good for softening edges of ponds, this native plant has minute greenish flowers on its main spike but is enclosed by a spectacular white spathe May-Aug, with clusters of red berries (toxic to young children) Aug-Nov.  Scent attracts an abundance of wetland flies and beetles.  Full sun or half shade. Can be propagated by division of the rhizome.  

A naturalised plant to the British Isles

Height: 15-25cm

Planting position: Pond marginal shelf up to 15cm deep; or very wet soil.  In established ponds with good layer of sediment in bottom can be left to free float.

Form: 1 litre in a planting basket ready to drop straight into your pond (newly potted)
