This pretty umbrella headed flower has dainty pink flowers, Jun-July. It plant grows well in a sunny position, but make sure it has plenty of room to grow if in a basket as it doesn't like being constricted.  A valuable native plant providing egg laying sites for adult dragonfly, as well as perching and roosting sites. The larvae use the stems to climb out of the water

Butomus, sharp edged leaves to prevent it being used for fodder; umbellatus, with flowers in umbels (parasol shaped clusters)

Height: 60-120cm

Planting position: Pond marginal shelf in full sun, up to 25cm deep or very wet soil
