Colour co-ordinated Marginal Plant Collections

Some people like to follow a theme with their planting schemes, we have made this possible for you by offering a collection of colour co-ordinated marginal plants in plug form. These collections are available in the following options:-

These plants will be supplied in packs of 6 plants for £7.50, these will generally be 6 different plants, depending on the varieties available.
Normal postage charges apply for these packs.

Native Oxygenator collection 

A collection of six native oxygenator plants which are suitable for improving the quality of the water in your pond.

The choice of plants selected will be ours depending what looks good at the time of dispatch.

The collection will be supplied either as plug plants, bare root or bunches from the following list:-

Ceratophyllum demersum (Hornwort)
Eleocharis acicularis (Hairgrass)
Hippuris vulgaris (Mares tail)

Native Wetland Collection

With a similar theme in mind as the marginal plants we can supply packs of native plants which are suitable for planting in the damp areas surrounding ponds or beside streams. The cost of these packs will be 6 plants for £7.50. These packs will not be colour coded.

If you require more than 1 pack of these plants please let us know if you require identical packs, or would like as much variety with the plants as possible.
Normal postage charges apply for these packs.

Ornamental Bog Garden collection

Lots of people like to add a bog garden to their pond, or have an independent area without having a pond. There is lots of scope to grow a range of plants which thrive happily in damp condition i.e. their crowns are not submerged in water for weeks at a time. We have packs of ornamental plants available which are ideally suited for this purpose.

The cost of these packs will be 6 plants for £7.50. These packs will not be colour coded.
If you require more than 1 pack of these plants please let us know if you require identical packs, or would like as much variety with the plants as possible.
Normal postage charges apply for these packs.

All the plants in the collections are subject to what is looking good at the time of delivery and remain our choice.

Native and Ornamental Pond Collections

The difference in price between the native collections and the ornamental collections is generally related to the cost of Water lilies, unfortunately they are expensive and this is reflected in the collections, we do endeavour to keep the prices as reasonable as possible.

The lilies are supplied as bare root plants.

All the plants are delivered to you individually labeled, and will be the same high standard in plug form as the normal plant collection list. Planting instructions will be included.

If you can't find the right size or type of collection you require please contact us and we will put together a collection to suit your needs.

A collection of plants suitable for Vegetative filters
Nitrates are removed by the root hairs and absorbed by the plants as long as the root hairs have access to water.
Plants suitable for vegetative filters are:-

Phragmites australis (Norfolk Reed)
Apium nodiflorum (Fools Watercress)
Nasturtium officinale (Water cress)
Mentha aquatica (Water mint)

The collection will consist of 10 plants from the above list and will be supplied either as plug plants or bare root.
The choice of plants selected will be ours depending what looks good at the time of dispatch.

We would recommend you limit the planting depth of this collection to 6 inches (15 cm) until they reach larger sizes before you plant them into their ultimate planting depth
