Astilbe ‘Fanal’
14th February 2021£5.98 – £12.60 inc. VAT
Astilbe ‘Europa’, also known as False goat’s beard, is a lovely pond side plant with feathery plumes of soft pink flowers above deeply divided dark green glossy leaves. It is a medium-sized Astilbe that flowers slightly earlier than other cultivars, from May to June. Excellent for planting alongside streams or ponds.
As with all Astilbes the dried flowerheads fade to attractive shades of brown in the autumn providing continued winter interest. They also make excellent cut flowers but do fade quickly.
Water well when planting out and make sure that they are not allowed to dry out as they need to be kept moist at all times, especially until established, but do not allow them to get waterlogged as they don’t like standing water.
