Ecopond Mud Muncher -1 litre and 2.5 litre

Degrades plant matter and fish waste to help keep your pond clean and free from odours. Also suitable for use in pond filters.

Mud Muncher contains concentrated, selected micro-organisms that digest organic matter such as fish waste, fallen leaves and decaying plant matter, which otherwise causes a build up of sludge. This sludge reduces water clarity and quality and leads to nutrient build up which encourages algae and duckweed growth.

It is ideal for use in Autumn to combat leaves falling into the pond and the breakdown of pond plant vegetation, or in Spring to digest those that have accumulated over winter.

Mud Muncher can be used in conjunction with Extract of Barley Straw and Duckweed Control to reduce algae and duckweed problems. It is best used when pond water temperature is above 8 degrees to ensure effective microbial activity.

Safe for all pond life, humans and pets and cannot be overdosed.

Recommended dosage 50ml per 1,000 gallons (4,500 litres) per week in the autumn and 20ml per 1,000 gallons (4,500 litres) every 2 weeks in spring/summer.

1 litre treats 1,000 gallons (4,500 litres) for 20 weeks based on the autumn dosage or 100 weeks based on the spring/summer dosage.

Calculate the volume of water in your pond as follows:

Cubic metres x 1,000 = litres;

Cubic feet x 6.25 = gallons
