great Solomon’s seal (Polygonatum biflorum) has elegant arching stems up to 2m in spring with pairs of oval leaves followed quickly by green-tipped white flower bells in late spring to early summer. The flowers are followed by black berries which together with the fine leaf and stem structure provide interest into late summer and early autumn. Very similar to Solomon’s seal just bigger. It prefers part or full shade and works well with Hostas and ferns.
