Marsh mallow (Althaea officinalis) is an attractive tall British native perennial with lightly scented very pale pink flowers from June to September and is often found beside streams. It has medicinal properties and is widely used in herbal medicine. It is the food plant of the Painted Lady butterfly caterpillars and is pollinated by bees.
