A collection of British native plants which are suitable for planting up a half barrel with a diameter of approx 70cm to create a small water feature. Note that depending on the depth of the barrel you may need to support the baskets on bricks to ensure the correct planting depths. Please note that the loosestrife ‘Robert’ and White flag are cultivars of native plants so not strictly native, but they are smaller and more manageable that their native cousins.
The collection will consist of the following plants:

And will include a good selection of plants from the following list:
Marsh marigold, Marsh woundwort, Forget-me-not, Cotton grass, Hard rush, Penny Royal, Lesser water plantain, Frogbit, brooklime, Purple loosestrife ‘Robert’, Iris pseudacorus ‘Alba’ (white flag), Mare’s tail, Hair grass, Pepper grass, Common spike rush, Lesser spearwort, Square stemmed St John’s wort, Hornwort, and Willow moss.
Plants are supplied in 9cm pots and bare root. 9cm plants will need to be potted up to a larger aquatic basket.
This collection is available without planting baskets with baskets only or as a complete package including soil and aquatic gravel -please select from “Collection options” box below.
Planting in baskets you would need to purchase approx 10 litres of soil and 1.3 litres of gravel. If the baskets option is selected we will supply a mixture of 1 and 2 litre baskets appropriate to the size/height of plants selected, usually at least three 2 litre baskets.
