Pendulous sedge (Carex pendula) is a vigorous native grass with pendulous catkins for sun or shade. Attracts wildlife to feed and nest. Duck resistant plant when established. Evergreen.
Dead-head after flowering as it is a prolific seeder. Pendulous sedge is a very elegant grass ideal for larger ponds. Less suitable for small ponds unless carefully managed.
Planting position: Pond marginal shelf up to 10cm deep; or very wet soil
Form: 9cm in a solid pot
Recommended basket size min./ideal: 2 litre round/3.5 litre round
(Recommended basket sizes are for potting up 9cm (0.5 litre) plants only as these are supplied in solid pots. Larger sized plants are already in aquatic baskets so can go straight in the pond, however they may need potting up or splitting at some point)
