Pond cover nets are designed to stop leaves falling into the pond which then rot down creating excess nutrients and encouraging algal growth.  Best put down at the end of the season when most of the pond plants are going over and before the trees start shedding their leaves.  Also good for fish ponds to prevent predation of fish by cats and herons.  These are good quality nylon nets and are supplied with sturdy plastic ground pegs to hold them in place.  Please note they are not designed to prevent children falling into the pond.
