Rodgersia aeseculifolia (chestnut-leaved rodgersia) is a beautiful architectural herbacious perennial, forming large clumps of palmate rich green strongly veined leaves with spikes of creamy-white or pink flowers in June and July. The flowers develop into red seed heads for some lovely autumn colour. If this is a little large for you try the Rodgersia pinnata ‘Elegans’, or the Rodgersia ‘Bronze Peacock’ which is a more compact form with deeper pink flowers. It has an RHS AGM.
