Our Small British Native Pond Collection is a collection of plants suitable for a pond of approximately 2.5 sq. mtrs (28 sq ft) with marginal shelves up 4m (13 ft) long 20cm wide and a depth of 15-25cm.  The deep water area of the pond ideally should be at least 45cm (18in) deep.

This is designed to give a good selection of the different types of pond plants necessary to create a healthy balanced ecosystem which will attract and support wildlife diversity in your pond.  It will have a mixture of low growing, medium and taller marginal plants and provide flowering interest throughout the season.  It takes the stress out of planting up your pond and offers a good discount over the individual prices of the plants.  Note the collection does not include a water lily as the native lily is a little large for a small pond, however you could add a suitable lily from our collection of small water lilies by clicking on the following link: Our Water lilies by size (the dwarf lilies may be a little small and the medium/large lilies too big).  please note the cost of this is not included in the collection price.

And will include a good selection of our extensive stock of native plants including for example:

Amphibious bistort, Fringe lily, Lesser water plantain, Flowering rush, Common cotton grass, Cyperus sedge, Narrow reedmace, Soft rush, Hard rush, Yellow flag, Water plantain, Marsh marigold, Square stemmed St John’s wort, Yellow loosestrife, Marsh woundwort, Purple loosestrife, Purple loosestrife ‘Robert’, Common spike rush, Water mint, Bog bean, Forget-me-not, Creeping jenny, Watercress, Water crowfoot, Hornwort, Willow moss, Lesser spearwort, Pennyroyal, Brooklime and Water figwort.

Plants are supplied in 9cm pots and bare root apart from the deep water plant which will be supplied in a 1 litre basket.  9cm plants will need to be potted up into a larger aquatic basket.

This collection is available without planting baskets with baskets only or as a complete package including soil and aquatic gravel -please select  from “Collection options” box below.

Planting in baskets you would need to purchase approx 23 litres of soil and 3 litres of gravel.  If the baskets option is selected we will supply a mixture of 1 and 2 litre sizes appropriate for the plants selected.
