Striking and sought after Water lily, slightly darker than the ‘Almost Black’ and also hybridised by Perry Slocum by crossing a hardy with a tropical water lily it has very dark maroon flowers deepening to almost black in the centre.  The stunning flowers stay open longer in the day than most other lilies but can be prone to ‘melting’ in very intense sun, so best placed to avoid the hottest part of the day.  Suitable for medium sized ponds
