Water lily (Nymphaea) ‘Colorado’ is a lovely free flowering variety that has beautiful stellate or star shaped flowers which are salmon-pink in colour and pleasantly scented, standing a few inches above the water. It keeps on producing flowers later into the season after most others have stopped. Its leaves are mid green to olive with faint mottling and reddish-plum undersides and like other lilies with this characteristic leaf colouring (Barbara Dobbins, Chromatella and Paul Hariot) it keeps its leaves well into late autumn long after most other lilies have lost theirs . A medium lily suitable for medium to large ponds.
