Greater spearwort

Greater spearwort

This tall native perennial prefers calm water, an upright plant with a creeping rhizome which is a strong grower but easy to control.  Lovely large open yellow buttercup like flowers produced May-September.  Good for any size pond.  These have been cut back after flowering so have limited top growth, but they have very good root systems and are growing back nicely.

Ranunculus, little frog as they grow in wet places; lingua, tongue shaped leaves
