A vigorous British native plant which can be grown as a pond marginal or submersed as an effective oxygenator. It’s foliage is different depending on whether it grows underwater, when the leaves are softer and slightly longer, or emergent above the water where they are shorter, forming attractive Christmas tree like spikes
Best grown in containers to keep under control and not advisable for natural or clay ponds , however not to be confused with Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) which is a hideously invasive land plant!
Height: 20-30cm
Planting position: Submerged in depths up to 30cm deep
Form: 9cm (0.5 litre) in a solid pot -please select size below
Recommended basket size min./ideal: 2.5 litre shallow square/3.5 litre round
(Recommended basket sizes are for potting up 9cm (0.5 litre) plants only as these are supplied in solid pots. Larger sized plants are already in aquatic baskets so can go straight in the pond, however they may need potting up or splitting at some point)
