Iris ensata ‘Rose Queen’ (Japanese water iris) sometimes incorrectly referred to as Iris laevigata ‘Rose Queen’, is a beautiful water iris with clusters of small soft pink flowers in late spring or early summer. Even though the ensatas are called water irises, unlike true laevigata irises they are not not happy in standing water and will rot off over winter in these conditions, so treat this as a bog iris. It has an RHS AGM.
