Lesser spearwort (Ranunculus flammula) is a member of the buttercup family and is a good British native creeping plant which has a long flowering period, producing masses of small yellow flowers from June to August. It is mildly poisonous and can cause minor skin irritation.

Planting position: Pond marginal shelf up to 10cm deep or very wet soil. Sun or semi-shade.
