Variegated yellow flag is a cultivar of the native Yellow Flag iris. Its long erect leaves are striped green and cream and are a striking addition to any pond in early to late spring, providing a lovely contrast to other green foliage and brightening up any partly shady corners. As they mature into the summer months they lose their variegation and then can look similar to the Yellow flag. Yellow flowers June-July. This cultivar is less vigorous and slightly small than the yellow flag so is a good option for smaller ponds.
This iris has an RHS AGM.
